Tuoi Tre helps take 8 boys home

Tuoi Tre has found the parents of 8 runaway boys who were taken to the newspaper by two taxi motorbike drivers Saturday.

Yesterday afternoon, a taxi motorbike driver took 2 boys, who had escaped from a sewing factory where they were forced to work from 7 a.m. to 24 p.m. everyday, to Tuoi Tre’s headquarters in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.

While waiting for passengers at Binh Phuoc Crossroads, Do Tan Loi ran across Huynh Ngoc Hai, 15, and Bui Van Khuong, 14, both from the northern province of Bac Giang.

The boys told the driver that they were looking for help to go home.

Tuoi Tre located the boys’ parents who have come to HCMC to take their sons home.

Also yesterday, Bui Kim Ngoc, another motorbike taxi driver, informed Tuoi Tre that he was with 6 teenagers – Hai, Minh, Tai, Quoc, Nhan, and Vu – at the Eastern Bus Station.

The boys, aged 12-16, said they had left home in Xuyen Moc District in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau to look for work in HCMC.

Tuoi Tre also located these boys’ parents and contacted them. The parents took their children home last night.
